Apart from being straight up gorgeous, the panthers originating from the region of Ambilobe display an astounding variety of colors. Terms heard in the trade, identifying some as either “blue bar” or “red bar”, seem to be too simplistic. During the years we have worked with them, we have seen a greater diversity. Some groups of babies from the same parents produce “red bar," “blue bar” and combinations of the two. So when you think Ambilobe, think large variety of potential colors. Purchasing from a breeder who knows the bloodlines well (like us!), and are producing the offspring you’re interested in, is a real advantage.
For fun, and to give you all a tongue twister, we give our Ambilobes both Malagasy and English names.
